Historical Encounters at Claude Moore Park

Our students in grades K-6 traveled to nearby Claude Moore Park for a day of "Historical Encounters" with some exceptional historical reenactors. Students learned the art of wool dying during the 1700s, woodcarving using colonial era technology, and the joy of cooking with the limited ingredients and more primitive recipes available during this time period..  Students marveled at the Blacksmith's metal sculpting and stood in awe of the minute man's musket demonstration.  It was a wonderful journey back in time for our students and a lesson from the past they won't soon forget!
