The Newton School is a private, non-profit, general educational school for elementary and middle school students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Many of our students struggle in a traditional school environment. They may have difficulty sitting still for long periods, paying attention in a large group or finding productive things to do in less structured periods. They may have trouble making or keeping friends, can become anxious in new situations, or can be easily overwhelmed. Our students thrive in a nurturing, flexible environment where they are accepted as themselves and have the opportunity to grow and flourish.
The Newton School offers offers:
Small class sizes - Typically 8 students per class with two teachers in the Lower School and 6-8 students per class with one teacher in the Middle School
A program that integrates movement into the curriculum with 18,000 square feet of gym space in the school which helps children to stay engaged in learning and motivated throughout the day
A strong emphasis on social development through everyday interaction with a well trained staff

“When a child enters the school for the first time and makes great progress in multiple areas over months and years, it takes pressure off of the parents knowing that the child is in a good place and is safe. While we love our children to learn and know more, the quality of learning and retaining what they have learned is key. The main things for our family are tailored teaching methods, support for learning, promoting independence, transparency, open door policy and encouraging skills development outside of academics as in fitness, sports, art and other areas.
