Let's go strawberry picking!

Today students in grades K-4 took the trip to Wegmeyer Farm in Leesburg, VA to pick strawberries. Along with filling up their cartons with delicious berries, the group learned about how the plants are watered and what conditions are best for strawberry growth, courtesy of Farmer Joel and Farmer Bob. After picking among the 100 rows, we took the short trip over to Oatland Historic Mansion to learn about the Carter and Eustis families who owned the estate, dating back to the 1700s. What a delicious and educational day!
