Election Day

Today, all our students participated in voting for Virginia's 10th Congressional District and two Newton School referendums. Ms. Swarns, one of our wonderful middle school teachers, set up our registration, volunteers, voting booths, education and awareness materials, and the tabulation process (done by a Civics class). Everyone participated! The results were:

Virginia - 10th Congressional District

Wexton (D) - 65%
Cao (R) - 35%

Referendum 1 - Free dress day on the last Friday of the month:

Yes - 95%
No - 5%

Referendum - Extend the school year to June 30, 2023

Yes - 23% (really??)
No - 77%

We will start our free dress day on Friday, November 18th and end the school year on June 9th.
