Responsible Media Use
On Friday, Deputy John Miller from the Crime Prevention Unit of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrived to speak to students in grades 5-8 about “Responsible Social Media Use’. He did an excellent job covering important topics such as oversharing of information, where information goes on the Internet (it never goes away!), use of inappropriate photos, social media apps and how/why to only interact with people you know. The overall messages were 1) Think before you share 2) Tell a trusted adult if you see something that is not right 3) Be responsible since the information never goes away. It was an excellent and timely presentation – relevant and helpful! Thank you so much to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department and Deputy Miller!!
